Our Opportunity A unique opportunity is now available in our Longwall division for a Leading Hand Fabricator . This position will involve duties including but not limited to: Technical, Safety & Environment Work closely with the Workshop Manager, Supervisor and Project Coordinators to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation. Keep the necessary equipment in a fit for purpose state, arrange qualified persons to maintain them to the manufacturer’s specification. Ensure suppliers maintain compliance. Ensuring sub-contractors adhere to quality and safety on site. Address any safety issues, report incidents in a timely manner and participation in incident investigations. Fabricate components to drawings. Fabricate components within tolerances. Fabricate in accordance to weld procedures. FCAW, GMAW and Gouging Complete required QA documentation. Maintenance of tooling, cutting, and welding equipment. To help train apprentices by demonstrating correct work procedures. LEADERSHIP Set team, apprentices and individual’s objectives, targets, and work standards, communicate these to the team, review and reinforce. Train, mentor, and coach team and sub-contractors. Utilise fair leadership and adapt to the needs of team members. Ensure compliance toward company policies and procedures. Manage contractor performance, review, and provide feedback. Praise exemplary performance and correct unsatisfactory performance within contract requirements. Always seek opportunities to improve current work methods and performance. Maintain compliance with Work Safety, Health, Environment and Community Management System and associated legislative requirements.
