THE ROLE We’re looking for a Learning & Development Specialist to join our JD Sports ANZ People Team. This is a great opportunity for someone who’s passionate about learning, capability-building, and supporting teams to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment. In this role, you’ll bring global JD Sports learning programs to life across Australia and New Zealand — tailoring content, delivering engaging sessions, and creating impactful development experiences for our teams. You’ll partner with leaders, subject matter experts, and global colleagues to identify learning needs and deliver solutions across a range of formats, from in-person workshops to digital learning. Reporting to the Head of Learning & Development, this role is responsible for but not limited to: Training Facilitation & Delivery Facilitate engaging and effective in-person and virtual training sessions across all levels of the organisation Deliver onboarding and induction programs for Retail Managers and Support Office employees Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in key areas (e.g., leadership development, compliance, systems training, etc.) Adapt delivery style and content to suit diverse learning audiences and modalities Content Design & Development Develop instructional materials, including slide decks, facilitator guides, participant handbooks, and e-learning modules Tailor existing learning content to meet evolving business needs Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure content accuracy, relevance, and alignment with organizational objectives Stakeholder Engagement & Needs Analysis Partner with department heads, managers, and SMEs to assess training needs Translate learning needs into impactful training solutions and delivery plans Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure continuous learning support Needs Analysis and Evaluation Partner with stakeholders to conduct training needs assessments and performance gap analyses Align training solutions with organisational objectives, employee development plans, and compliance requirements Implement evaluation frameworks (e.g., Kirkpatrick’s Model) to assess training impact and recommend improvements Learning Technology and Systems Manage learning management systems (LMS) and other platforms to ensure optimal user experience and efficient content delivery Research and integrate innovative tools, technologies, and trends to enhance learning engagement Troubleshoot technical issues related to eLearning courses and digital training tools WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR?
