The Role The Grounds and Gardens Maintenance Officer role is a hands-on position, primarily responsible for the daily maintenance of the College grounds and gardens, as well as undertaking general day-to-day facilities tasks as directed. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday from 6.00am to 2.06pm. Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited do): Garden labour including mowing, spraying, snipping, leave blowing, hedge trimming, gardening, pruning, garden restoration Cleaning duties involving the use of a high-pressure cleaner and other cleaning duties as required including gutters Grounds duties including supporting the line marking of sports fields Operation of hand tools, plant and equipment, including checking and maintaining equipment prior to and after use Provision of logistic labour support (event set up and pack down) to help with college events and functions on campus Waste management and removal, ensuring the college is at all times maintained and presented at a high standard To be successful, you will demonstrate: Proven ability to work effectively both within a team environment and independently with minimal supervision Experience using and maintaining a broad range of hand and gardening tools and plant and equipment Ability to multitask, efficiently manage a wide range of daily responsibilities, and demonstrate strong time management skills A strong understanding of Work Health and Safety obligations especially in relation to Hazardous Substances and Plant and Equipment Strong problem-solving skills In addition, you must hold or be able to hold a current paid Working with Children Check – (Blue Card), First Aid and CPR qualifications.
