Capewell Breaking & Pre-Training We are a large scale breaking in & pre-training facility, being a safe organisation with quality infrastructure. We break in some of the best quality thoroughbreds in Queensland for top trainers - who continue on to have incredible successful careers and life after racing. It is a very rewarding career, seeing young progeny progress through the training ranks of our organisation - to following their colourful careers throughout the country. What this job will entail: Working 5am-lunchtime Mon-Fri Working the occasional Saturday morning (for only approx. 3 hours) Assisting Jake and the team to break in yearlings (mouthing up process, ponying, riding in the arena, riding on our training track etc) Riding breakers, pre-trainers, and our pony What we require from you: Solid horse experience (doesn't have to be with thoroughbreds) Patience Willingness to adapt and learn A QRIC track work licence (we can assist with this) Reliability and honesty What we will deliver: We take great pride in what we do, and aim to have our horses as quiet and responsive to ride as possible Flexible working conditions Great safe facilities (2 x round yards undercover, 30 stables close by with more at our pre-training facility, spelling farm, sand arena, practice barriers, maintained equipment etc) All the gear necessary (saddles, bridles etc) A positive work environment Above award wage - negotiable for the right person (paid weekly) Full-time job security (once probation period has ended) Assistance from other staff (will not be working alone - there will always be assistance) Please send us an email on admin@jcbpt.com.au or give Jake a call on 0409 765 958.
