We are seeking an experienced and motivated public health nutrition professional to join our team to lead and contribute to the development of, or variation to, nutrition-related food standards. You will be required to undertake risk analysis activities including researching and analysing scientific, policy, regulatory, and other information relevant to such food standards, provide expert advice to FSANZ, and liaise with consumer, professional and industry groups and relevant state, territory, Australian and New Zealand government agencies on nutrition related issues. Our ideal candidate will be passionate about public health nutrition, and making evidence-based decisions to ensure consumers in Australia and New Zealand can trust the foods they choose. They will also be flexible and able to take on new challenges and work as required by the agency. The key duties of the position include Key responsibilities will include: • Working with a high-degree of independence, leading and contributing to project teams on nutrition-related food standards and associated work. • Undertaking research and analysis primarily relating to the development or variation of nutrition-related food standards. • Providing advice on the risk assessment and risk management aspects of nutrition-related food standards to government agencies, the food industry, health professionals, and consumers. • Undertaking analysis of FSANZ's contribution to broader public health and food regulatory policy initiatives. • Maintaining relationships with consumer and industry groups and with relevant State, Territory, Australian, and New Zealand government agencies on food standards and related matters. • Communicating complex scientific or regulatory information to a range of stakeholders for a range of purposes. • Representing FSANZ at relevant professional and stakeholder forums when required. • Supervising and mentoring staff as required.
