Role Type: 1-year full time contract Salary: $94,014 p.a plus superannuation The Opportunity We are seeking a Research Assistant to support a series of speech and language reverse phenotyping projects. In this role, you will be involved in participant recruitment and data collection, and will deliver motor speech interventions (e.g., DTTC, ReST) in line with our n-of-1 (single-case experimental design) treatment protocols. This position includes providing direct speech therapy to children with rare genetic conditions and co-occurring speech disorders, working as part of a research study within a multidisciplinary team. Your Responsibilities Include Assisting and contributing to data generation for research and publicationsWorking to improve skill base in research productivity and methodologyFollowing standard operating procedures, study protocols and study guidelinesCarrying out speech motor therapy (e.g., DTTC, ReST) with study participants according to study protocols (i.e., maintains study rigour, follows study operating procedures, documents progress, etc)Supporting speech pathology ratings or assessments for related studies as required as part of the broader Speech and Language team What We Need From You Bachelor or Masters qualification in Speech PathologyClinical speech pathology experience and familiarity conducting speech therapy intervention independently with paediatric clients/patientsExperience working with complex clinical populations (e.g., children with rare disease and their families)Demonstrated ability to follow standardised/formalised assessment and treatment proceduresStrong theoretical understanding of motor speech conditions For full viewing of responsibilities and requirements please refer to the position description.
