About the project and opportunity: Acciona as part of the ActivUs Alliance has been awarded the design and construct contract to deliver the Logan to Gold Coast Faster Rail Project. This project will see us deliver both rail and station packages with our partners. We are seeking a forward-thinking Sustainability Lead to champion sustainability on the project. This is a high-impact role where you’ll embed sustainability principles into every phase of project delivery—from design and construction to operations—ensuring alignment with the project and ACCIONA’s global sustainability vision. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement the project’s sustainability strategy in line with IS Rating Scheme and other relevant frameworks. Drive initiatives in carbon reduction, circular economy, biodiversity, and social value creation. Collaborate with design, engineering, and construction teams to integrate sustainability into planning and delivery. Engage with stakeholders including government agencies, community groups, and Indigenous partners to ensure inclusive and transparent outcomes. Monitor, report, and communicate sustainability performance, risks, and opportunities. Represent the project in industry forums and contribute to knowledge-sharing across ACCIONA’s portfolio. Required Skills and Competencies Required Skills Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Science with 7 years demonstrated experience Strong understanding of IS Rating tools, climate resilience, and ESG reporting. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Passionate about delivering legacy outcomes for people and the planet.
