EVENTS OFFICER Contract - immediate commencement for 2 months South of the River$41.74 per hour Full time role with some weekend work - penalties paid Immediate start Duties: Plan, coordinate and deliver annual calendar of Civic Events, including the Australia Day Awards and Citizenship Ceremony, ANZAC Day, Official Openings and landmark occasion events (such as naming ceremonies) Plan, coordinate and deliver regular Citizenship Ceremonies, including event logistics, liaison with Department of Home Affairs and other stakeholders/organising bodies. Administer the Citizen of the Year and Clem Kentish Awards, including but not limited to administration of the selection panel and receipt of nominations. Coordinate online communication and promotion activities for Civic Days, such as Remembrance Day. Develop and maintain comprehensive event management plans for Civic Events, identifying opportunities for improvement. Identify and coordinate opportunities for community engagement in Civic Events, working in partnership with local community groups and organisations to deliver. Consult with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear communication and cooperation regarding Civic Events Evaluate events and report the information to appropriate organisations and officers for continual improvement practices. Work with the Community Development Officer - Events to support the delivery of annual community events program. Assist in the management of contractors, suppliers and volunteers for delivery of community events. Contribute to the effective coordination and continuous improvement of the community events program. Assist with the coordination of Public Event enquiries and applications as required. Essential: Excellent administrative, organisational and time management skills, including competence in word processing and database use Experience in programming and delivery of community and/or civic events, including development of event management plans and procedures High level of organisation and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and remain calm under pressure Sound interpersonal, public relations and customer service skills, with the ability to liaise and sustain relationships at all levels with internal and external stakeholders Ability to work irregular hours, which would include regular evening functions and occasional weekends Ability to work independently with limited supervision to use initiative 'C' Class driver's license If you feel you have the above skills, please APPLY now!
