About The Role We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Ministry Assistant to support the Corps Officers (Ministers) in delivering the Christian mission of The Salvation Army Waverley Corps. The Ministry Assistant would be responsible for the coordination, development and implementation of all Youth (12-18yrs) and Young Adults (18-30yrs) ministries. Reporting to the Corps Officer, this is a permanent, part-time (22.8 hours per week), position based in Glen Waverley, Victoria. You will successfully: Plan, develop, co-ordinate, and implement all current Youth & Young Adult Ministries at Waverley Corps Seek to establish new Youth and Young Adult ministry and mission opportunities in consultation with the Corps Officers and based on the needs of Waverley Corps and the local community Establish and promote a positive and affirming environment among Youth & Young Adult Ministries to build community and foster healthy relationships Develop and deliver faith pathways for Youth & Young Adults for spiritual growth and learning, and create opportunities for mission and service amongst Youth & Young Adults Provide appropriate pastoral care to Youth & Young Adults and foster positive relationships with their families Identify, develop and mentor existing, emerging and potential leaders within the Corps and ensure all volunteers are recruited, trained, effectively engaged and aligned with Salvos Mission and Values Undertake administrative responsibilities required by the role including, but not limited to, statistical reporting, allocated budget management, child safety and WHS requirements, volunteer management, appropriate communication, team meetings and resource maintenance You will have: A minimum Diploma level qualification in in Youth Work, Ministry, Education or Community Services Demonstrated experience developing and implementing engaging and impactful programs/activities that meet the diverse needs and interests of youth. A current Victorian Drivers licence A current VIC Working with Children Check (WWCC) The willingness to undergo a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
