Description Wood is currently recruiting for a Construction Engineer to join our team in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea on a FIFO rotational schedule (28 days on/ 28 days off). LI-Sites The Role Reporting to the Construction Coordinator, the successful applicant will be responsible for construction engineering interface with Head Office and coordination of related support activities pertaining directly to the projects. What we can offer Meaningful and interesting projects delivered to leaders of industry across renewables and emerging energy sectors Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion; we are an organisation actively committed to diversity and inclusion across our business with employee networks committed to giving all employees a voice Competitive salary with regular salary reviews to ensure we are rewarding at the right level in line with the market Commitment to continued professional development; development plans that are tailored to your individual needs and interests Global connections; join experts around the world who are at the leading edge of our industry, shaping the standards of our profession Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Coordination and organisation of site-based field engineering team Interface with Contractor’s Project and Discipline Engineers, Contractors, Construction personnel and Company’s Operations personnel to develop construction work plans Document plans in construction work packages Providing Construction estimates / CTR approval (in collaboration with the Superintendents) Implementation of the work break down structure for each Project as documented in the Project Execution Plans (work break downs structure shall be implemented at the start of the detailed design phase - in strong collaboration with the applicable Construction Superintendent) Sets and maintains the quality of the work packs, formats, contents and how they are used Integration of materials management (work pack MTOs and AFC source documents) Planning and Execution of work / resource management of the job carders Construction input into the Project and Engineering Design (leveraging site expertise as appropriate) Actively promotes excellence in H&S by setting clear H&S expectations Provides consistent, visible leadership to ensure strong individual and field engineering team motivation and productivity Sets clear expectations for individuals and teams, communicate organisation, roles and responsibilities, and provide ongoing coaching and support Qualifications What makes you remarkable? Ideally you will have: 12 years minimum experience within Oil & Gas Industry At least 8 years in a construction engineer role Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (B.Sc/ M.Sc/ B.Eng) and eligible for membership of an internationally accepted applicable professional Institute. e.g. IET, Engineers Australia Excellent written and oral communication skills Familiar with the equipment found in a typical oil and gas producing / shipping facility Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with project / design and construction personnel Demonstrated ability to specify field requirements to engineering in order to execute field work Maintains a high degree of proactive communication, reporting and performance Capable of communicating and interfacing effectively with other disciplines, project managers, and clients’ representatives.
