They are currently seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join their team and support their growing portfolio of residential and commercial projects. The Role As a telecommunications Technician, you will be working across Melbourne's Western and Northern Suburbs, responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and support of high-performance telecommunications infrastructure - including HFC, fibre, and copper networks. Key Responsibilities Plan and design telecom devices and HFC network structures Pre-wire and terminate telecom services (TV, intercoms, data points) in residential and commercial settings Complete NBN pre-installs, fibre/copper splicing, and connector terminations Diagnose and repair telecom faults and outages Interpret HFC blueprints and documentation Perform structured cabling installations and network configuration Conduct fieldwork to install hardware and automation infrastructure Identify conduit blockages and implement suitable solutions Liaise with stakeholders, vendors, and suppliers Monitor live NBN networks via the UNA Diagnostic App Maintain accurate records of system faults and solutions Provide technical advice on network architecture and enhancements Ensure all work aligns with NBN & Delivery Partner standards and compliance requirements What You'll Bring Advanced Diploma (minimum) in Telecommunications or related field 1 year experience in a similar NBN technician or telecommunications role Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or in Telecommunications Network Engineering; At least 1 year of experience managing firewalls such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Cisco ASA Minimum 1 year of experience in telecommunications network planning, network design, and support Minimum 1 year working with VPNs, remote access solutions, and secure connectivity Minimum 1 year working with telecommunications network solutions Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches Proficient in configuring Cisco routers/switches Minimum 1 year of experience with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP , and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP) Minimum 1 year experience with wireless networks , VLANs , VoIP , and QoS configurations Knowledge of fibre and copper cabling practices, including cutovers from FTTN/FTTC Familiarity with network performance tuning and security protocols Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
