About The Ration Shed Museum: The Ration Shed Museum has been part of the Cherbourg Community since 2006 and is committed to preserving and sharing First Nations local history. Since the completion of their Strategic Business Plan in 2024, the focus has been on supporting growth and stability through the Consolidating Our Future project and expanding markets for First Nations artists and craftworkers. Key Requirements: The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate: High cultural sensitivity when working with First Nation artists and community members. Proven administration and computer skills. Excellent financial administration skills for payroll preparation, invoicing , accounts receivable / payable. Strong interpersonal and dynamic people skills. The proven ability to oversee, roster and direct a team of volunteers. Experience managing online sales platforms such as Shopify. Event management / coordination within arts, cultural or community settings. Experience in engaging with diverse stakeholders. A current Qld Working with Children Blue Card and National Police Check OR be eligible to quickly acquire. Although not essential requirements, preference will be shown to applicants also able to offer any of the following: Identification as an Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander person. Qualifications or certificates in Business or other relevant fields. MYOB experience / training. Shopify experience / training. Key Duties: The following represents an overview of the scope of the duties to be performed: Support the Ration Shed team under the Museum Manager’s guidance. Promote and coordinate events, tours, and workshops. Provide administration support for artist sales, including preparation of payroll cheque requisitions, artist payments, client invoices and processing accounts payable / receivable. Oversee training, support and rosters for Tour Guides and Reception staff. Support artists delivering workshops by preparing spaces, equipment and materials. Promote events and exhibitions. Upload and manage gallery stock via Shopify and website. Process online orders and maintain stock images. Track, record and report visitor and workshop attendance.
