The key duties of the position include The Role The role involves the development and delivery of internationally-recognised intelligence training to members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and Australian Public Service (APS). Primary tasks include face-to-face teaching, development and validation of assessments and the monitoring and reporting of learner performance. You will also be required to fulfil course manager responsibilities, which include the organisation of course resources, management of learner administration, supervision and coordination of ADF and APS, external liaison and the facilitation of field trips (booking transport, organising movements). About our Team The Defence School of Intelligence (DSI) is a mixed ADF / APS training organisation within the Department of Defence and is mandated to provide intelligence training and education to meet the needs of Defence both domestically and abroad. The team's primary function centralises around the modernisation, design and implementation of foundation intelligence training to members of the Australian Defence Force as well as civilian employees of the Department of Defence. In addition, DSI also delivers training to selected international personnel both domestically and abroad, regularly travelling throughout the region to deliver training. Our Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate would be able to consistently demonstrate the following: Ability to work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of the outcomes of their directed tasks. Ability to use a high degree of emotional intelligence to foster effective working relationships with ADF and APS personnel within DSI, mentor and develop students and through engagement with senior decision makers, support policy and diplomatic stakeholders. Education and training in government intelligence tools, techniques and processes with relevant work experience in government intelligence settings. The ability to deliver training materials and communicate with training audiences of whom English is a second language, whilst working through an interpreter. Possess a TAE16 or higher level qualification as an instructor and assessor.
