About the role We are seeking a Specialist Process Engineer to provide expert oversight and support for the Dampier Port Operations. This position offers the opportunity to drive continuous improvement by identifying and applying Rio Tinto’s best practices to boost efficiency and effectiveness. Key Responsibilities: Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating, and implementing improvement opportunities utilizing a range of Rio Tinto best practices Collaborate closely with other functions and stakeholders in the performance of duties Coach and support a team of fixed plant process engineering personnel Manage fixed plant process engineering activities to maximise productivity while minimising cost and environmental impact Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including statutory obligations Lead, organise, and develop site process upgrades to sustain fixed plant and laboratory operations Liaise and collaborate with key stakeholders on defect elimination and continuous improvement initiatives Advocate for optimized plant production by providing feedback to mine stakeholders regarding feed conformance to plan and identifying suitable changes where required Evaluate performance data, analyse and share insights, and prepare reports for site leadership Lead and coordinate the site quarterly forecasting (QF) process Oversee management of customer quality complaints through collaboration with site stakeholders and leadership of the process engineering team Provide subject matter metallurgy expertise to support site stakeholders What You’ll Bring: High proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerBI, SAP, and data analysis tools (or equivalent software). Strong analytical skills, with the ability to validate data, perform numerical analysis, and solve complex problems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all organizational levels. Significant expertise in processing and operations.
