Description We’re seeking a commercially minded and analytically driven Financial ( Decision Support) Analyst to join our Finance division. In this pivotal role, you will provide financial and commercial management support to the business. Collaborate with the Commercial and Decision Support team to deliver consistent advice on management reporting, business development, budgeting, forecasting processes, and finance-specific system support . This role has a preferred location of Port Macquarie, however anywhere within Operational Footprint will also be considered. Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly performance reports and collaborate with senior stakeholders to track progress against targets Contribute to the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and the Statement of Corporate Intent (SCI) Contribute to the end-to-end Month end financial close process Support the development and implementation of improved business processes, reporting frameworks, and internal controls Assisting in the development of finance procedures and internal control documentation Report on operating and capital expenditure, including works in progress Support business case development and strategic initiatives, including post-implementation reviews Monitor financial accounting frameworks and ensure data integrity across systems Develop financial models, sensitivity analyses, and scenario modelling to support decision making Provide business partnering services and foster trusted advisor relationships Provide financial input into AER submissions and Regulatory Information Notice (RIN) processes About You The successful candidate should be skilled in financial modelling, analysis, and have a good understanding of financial and management accounting principles. Demonstrated ability in preparing accurate financial information, including reports and forecasts, is crucial, along with knowledge of regulatory models and environments. Strong analytical skills, the ability to navigate complex situations and troubleshoot, and effective communication and stakeholder management are essential. The candidate must prioritise confidentiality and sensitivity and be proficient in budgeting tools, ERPs, and reporting systems. Advanced Excel skills, including linking multiple sheets and managing complex workbooks, are a significant advantage. Qualifications Required: Advanced Diploma in Accounting or equivalent experience Preferred: Chartered Accountant (CA) / Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) or studying towards CA/CPA Experience Experience in industries such as Construction, Consulting, Energy/Electrical, Financial Services, or Utilities Strong background in financial modelling and analysis Experience with financial and management accounting principles Familiarity with regulatory environments and reporting requirements Skills Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills High proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, ERP systems, and reporting tools Advanced Excel skills, including complex workbook linking Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing conditions Respect for confidentiality and a collaborative team mindset Why Join Essential Energy?
