Description The Rural Locum Assistance Program (Rural LAP), a subsidiary of the multi-award-winning, Australian-owned healthcare provider, Aspen Medical, plays a key role in supporting the Australian Government’s rural workforce capacity agenda by delivering essential healthcare services to rural and remote regions. We are seeking experienced and registered Occupational Therapists for short-term placements in rural and remote communities across Australia. This is an opportunity to contribute to improving access to allied health services in underserved areas while gaining unique and rewarding professional experiences. Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assessing clients’ functional capacity and developing individualised treatment plans Delivering therapy that supports clients to achieve greater independence in their daily lives Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support continuity of care Providing assessments and interventions in diverse environments, including aged care facilities, hospitals, and community settings Educating clients, families, and support workers on therapeutic strategies Documenting clinical findings accurately and maintaining confidentiality Adapting quickly to varied clinical settings and community needs in rural and remote locations Essential criteria: Unrestricted registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Occupational Therapist A minimum of two (2) years’ full-time equivalent clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist Evidence of at least 250 hours of relevant clinical practice within the past 12 months, demonstrated via a certificate of employment or payslips confirming your role Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification with a practical assessment component Ability to remain calm and operate effectively in unstructured, rapidly changing environments.
