About the Role As Industry Development Manager – Regulatory, you will lead engagement on regulatory reform, market design and policy settings across electricity and gas markets. This role works across multiple internal teams to guide strategic responses to major reforms, regulatory consultations, and emerging policy developments. You will represent the business in national forums, industry groups and stakeholder processes, and provide clear commercial and technical advice to shape the organisation’s positions on key market issues. Key Responsibilities Lead the development of internal positions on regulatory and market reform initiatives. Manage regulatory submissions, working group participation, and consultation responses. Provide strategic advice on electricity and gas market design, policy trends and regulatory risk. Work closely with commercial, legal and technical teams to assess implications of proposed reforms. Represent the organisation in external forums, including market body consultations and policy working groups. Monitor and interpret regulatory developments to inform internal decision-making. Build strong relationships with policymakers, regulators, and industry participants. Support cross-business engagement and coordination on market-related matters. Contribute to board and executive briefings on regulatory priorities and reform risks. Align internal regulatory strategy with broader business and decarbonisation objectives. Candidate Profile You have strong experience in regulatory strategy, energy markets, or public policy. You are confident leading regulatory engagement and have worked across electricity or gas market reform. You understand the link between policy and commercial impact, and can engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. Minimum 7 years’ experience in regulatory affairs, market development, or energy policy. Strong understanding of NEM and/or gas market frameworks, stakeholders and reform agendas. Demonstrated experience leading regulatory submissions and working group representation. Proven ability to translate technical or policy proposals into commercial insight. Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail. Experience influencing senior stakeholders in industry or government. Stable and consistent employment history across relevant roles in the energy or policy sectors. Relevant qualifications in law, public policy, engineering, economics or related field.
