Purpose To contribute to a positive student experience by identifying and negotiating suitable Work Integrated learning (WIL) placements and assisting students to develop the career management skills to gain a WIL placement aligned with their course of study and career goals. Main Duties and Responsibilities Establish and maintain strong industry links to relevant sectors within the culinary, hospitality and catering industries Negotiate suitable industry placements, supported by formal agreements Prepare and deliver workshops to support students as they prepare for their industry placement units Provide advice and support to students, assisting them to select and apply for suitable WIL placements to complete their WIL unit Provide advice and support to students who are undertaking WIL placements, including workplace visits Monitor student progression and compliance with WIL requirements Provide support to industry partners hosting WIL students Consult with LCB professional and academic staff to deliver partner engagement opportunities Complete administrative tasks associated with the role Any other duties as directed by the Industry Engagement Manager Position Requirements Highly organised with excellent time management skills including the ability to meet tight deadlines Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Strong team-player Ability to use initiative to evaluate and determine partnership opportunities Ability to engage, negotiate, manage, and evaluate partner relationships and contractual agreements Ability to exercise sensitivity, discretion, and confidentiality in interactions with students and academic and professional staff at all levels Ability to contribute to the development and delivery of student workshops Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision Formal Education & Certification Relevant qualifications in related sectors such as Hospitality, Human Resources, or Education (Desirable) Knowledge & Experience Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience Demonstrated knowledge of the hospitality industry Demonstrated ability to work independently, with the ability to manage tight times frames Demonstrated ability to exercise independent and informed judgment in problem-solving Demonstrated experience in dealing with a diverse range of people and cultures and in meeting their needs in a timely and efficient manner Demonstrated experience in public speaking and presenting to groups of all sizes An understanding of human resource matters including recruitment and selection processes, writing resumes and the preparation and conduct of interviews Computer literacy (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint presentations and Microsoft Outlook) Proven experience in professional relationship development and maintenance, ideally within the culinary and broader hospitality industry (Desirable)
