What does the job look like? The Intermodal business has an exciting opportunity for a Cross Dock Operations Manager to join our team at the West Melbourne site. This leadership role is critical in delivering high-performing, safe, and efficient cross-dock operations in line with customer expectations and compliance standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing teams across multiple cross-dock sites, ensuring consistent operational excellence, safety compliance, and cost control. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the execution of the daily work plan, ensuring safety, service, and cost targets are met. Manage the efficient flow of freight through the Truganina site and support operational oversight across additional warehouse locations. Provide leadership and coordination of teams across multiple sites, ensuring alignment and consistency in performance. Build and maintain strong working relationships with both customers and carriers, ensuring service excellence. Ensure all staff and subcontractors comply with regulatory, legislative, and company safety and operational policies. Prepare and deliver KPI reporting to management, ensuring visibility of operational performance and areas for improvement. Provide regular financial reporting on all Cross Dock warehousing operations, including cost control and budget adherence. Report on warehouse safety and compliance, identifying risks and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Foster a culture of positive team engagement, ownership, and accountability across all shifts and sites. Are you the one? You’re a strong and adaptable leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You can demonstrate: Proven experience in warehousing and/or logistics operations, with the ability to manage teams across multiple warehouse sites. Previous leadership experience in a management or supervisory capacity. A professional, customer-focused approach, with strong relationship management skills. A solid understanding of financial principles, with experience in budget control, cost reduction, and margin improvement. Strong commercial acumen with a focus on resource utilisation, labour planning, and operational efficiency. The ability to prioritise, make decisions, and perform under pressure in dynamic operational settings. A proven track record of driving results through effective planning and execution. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems (highly regarded).
