Position Title: Forklift Operator Location: Darwin, Northern Territory Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: Workshop Supervisor Pay : $70,000 to $80,000 Position Summary: The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift to move, load, unload, and stack materials within workshop, yard, or site environment. The role involves general labouring tasks, equipment checks, and ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Operate a forklift to load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, and shelves Relocate goods and stock safely around site or warehouse Perform pre-start safety checks and routine maintenance inspections on forklift equipment Assist with manual handling and general labouring duties as required Follow site-specific procedures and safety protocols Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the work area Accurately complete relevant documentation, such as load sheets and delivery dockets Selection Criteria / Essential Skills: Valid LF Forklift Licence (mandatory) Demonstrated experience operating a forklift in a similar environment Strong understanding of load safety and weight distribution Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks Attention to detail and good communication skills Ability to work independently and within a team Understanding of WHS legislation and site safety requirements Desirable: HR/MR truck licence Previous experience in construction, mining, or logistics sectors Working Conditions: Monday to Friday PPE required at all times (hi-vis, steel caps, etc.) Must be reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
