The Role We are looking for a Disability Support Worker to join our team on a maternity leave cover 14 month contract , with the potential for a permanent position as our team grows. You will be supported as you step into the role with a comprehensive one-on-one handover from our current Employment Coach, who will guide you before commencing maternity leave. As an Employment Coach , you’ll join our Employment Services Team to support people with disability in achieving their vocational goals. Reporting to the Employment Supports & Outcomes Manager, you’ll play a key role in helping our employees thrive in meaningful, supported employment. This is a hands-on, people-focused role where you’ll make a tangible impact every day. Key Responsibilities Employee Support & Development Provide day-to-day support to supported team members, including those requiring frequent prompting or behavioural supervision Assist employees in learning new skills and tasks Develop and review daily and weekly plans to help employees achieve their goals Complete daily progress notes and report concerns or achievements to the Employment Services team Advocate for supported team members and maintain clear professional boundaries Planning & Communication Share ideas and concepts in a way that is easily understood by employees and colleagues Assist supported team members in decision-making and planning Deliver an exceptional customer experience through active listening and responsive support Compliance & Safety Ensure adherence to NDIS Practice Standards, cape policies, and relevant legislation Promote and implement safe work practices in line with OHS requirements Participate in risk management planning and incident reporting Team Collaboration Work collaboratively with colleagues across employment services, operations, and administration Contribute to a positive, professional, and inclusive team culture Support other duties as directed by the NDIS Employment & Training Lead, including transporting employees for work experience using cape’s minibus What You’ll Bring Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent (or equivalent) Experience in the disability sector – preferred Working knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards – desired Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation Excellent time management, planning, and administrative skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Current Victorian driver’s licence NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and Working with Children Check (or willingness to apply) Why Join Us?
