Job Description • Assess clients’ home environments to identify opportunities for recreational activities and ensure they align with the available space and resources. • Plan, organise and implement diverse and engaging recreation and leisure-based activity programmes, taking into consideration the home setting and the specific desires of clients. • Conduct task analysis to assess the cognitive, physical and emotional abilities of each client and adapt activity plans based on observation and assessment, recognising that individual needs may evolve. • Assess clients’ functional capacity to carry out daily tasks independently, identifying areas of strength and areas that may require additional support. • Evaluate clients’ ability to interact socially, strengths and weaknesses, focusing on how these factors may impact their ability to participate in and enjoy recreational activities at home. • Present a variety of recreational activity options suited to different interests, allowing clients to choose activities that resonate with them. • Implement memory games, puzzles or other cognitive stimulation activities that can be easily conducted within the home setting. • Provide information to clients about local community resources, services and programmes that align with their interests, facilitating their engagement in external activities. • Implement motivational strategies to inspire clients to engage in activities, such as highlighting the positive impact on their well-being and emphasising the enjoyment factor. • Stay informed about the recreational resources available within the company and community to offer a diverse range of options for retirees at home. • Assist with training and overseeing staff and volunteers, equipping them with the skills to customise activities based on individual client preferences and home settings.
