Additional information can be found at:www.chubb.com Your Role Reporting to the Small Commercial Financial Lines Manager, the primary purpose of this role is to deliver underwriting profit and growth in our Cyber and Technology Practice business. Your Responsibilities: Achievement of Retention and/or Personal premium budget Achieve financial targets. Underwriting Underwriting authority in all lines Within scope of delegated authority: Evaluates and accepts or declines new lines, renewals and endorsements Evaluates and makes recommendation for acceptance or declination on risks which exceed authority Recommends account trade off decisions Assists manager in providing input on portfolio analysis, profit analysis, premium planning, market and environment analysis, process and systems effectiveness and efficiency, etc. Responsible for underwriting results of assigned producers Producer Relations Underwriter is responsible for profit and premium growth of assigned producers. This would include producer account control and book composition and analysis Visits assigned producers to discuss risks, communicate Chubb’s business appetites, and to retain existing / produce new business Responsible for providing supervisor with input on premium planning variance People Development May have responsibility for assisting in underwriting training and producer relations Service Responsible for underwriting service to assigned producers. Utilises the MOS and/or other Chubb measurement systems designed to improve processes, service and productivity Qualifications Looks for solutions to unique underwriting situations Understands pricing techniques Understands account servicing costs Has a working knowledge of alternative risk transfer Understands development of reserves by individual case and by book of business Has a working knowledge of the key accounts in the Branch Understands the underwriting appetites of the other departments and how those relate to interdepartmental accounts Understands the broker selection and appointment process Makes recommendations for tailoring coverage and manuscripting policies Is familiar with the products / services of key competitors Is comfortable with a wide range of negotiation techniques Has demonstrated ability to work well with people and influence decisions Understands portfolio analysis / underwriting, in particular the renewals process Chubb is committed to equal employment and celebrates individual differences by creating a workplace environment in which everyone feels welcomed, respected and valued.
