Promote student wellbeing and safety through c ompassionate problem-solving and administrative support Join a dedicated team who provide safety and mental health support to students Full time, ongoing role based in Hobart About the opportunity We are seeking to appoint an Intake Support Officer for the Student Safety and Wellbeing (SSW) Team, which is part of the Academic Division. Student Safety and Wellbeing provide integral support for all matters of student mental health and wellbeing, case management of complex student issues, reports of inappropriate behaviour, notifications of sexual assault or harassment, and the lodgement of general concerns or complaints of unfair, unsafe, or discriminatory experiences. The team is made up of Counsellors, Investigators, Case Managers, and the Clinical Intake Team who triage and provide brief support and referral recommendations to incoming requests to access the SSW Team. What you’ll do: Provide initial support to the intake, case management and investigative staff, and well-informed advice to University community members. Provide support to the Student Safety and Wellbeing team staff in relation to the University’s ethos and approach to responding to and resolving student safety and wellbeing matters. Provide administrative support to the development and delivery of training and awareness sessions, promotional and educational resources. Provide administrative support to the delivery of gender-based violence prevention activities. What we’re looking for: Demonstrated excellent skills building and managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and partners when consulting and collaborating. A people centered mindset and the capability to be empathetic and resilient in challenging situations. Well-developed people and communication skills, including experience in engaging diverse cohorts, promoting, translating and providing advice on a wide range of complex and sensitive matters. Demonstrated experience in resolving disputes and conflicts, responding to complex matters including complaints, wellbeing, or safety, and achieving desired outcomes. Ability to work in a demanding and dynamic environment and exercise rigorous judgement in relation to prioritisation and escalation, risk assessment and decision making. Salary details Appointment to this role will be at HEO 5 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $105,665 comprising base salary within the range of $80,869 to $90,312 plus 17% superannuation.
