The key duties of the position include The Role Within the Project Management function, an EL1 Project Manager is accountable to perform and achieve project management work within an integrated workforce. The EL1 LCD IE PM will perform a leadership role with cross-Division and international stakeholders. They will exercise sound decision-making and judgment to provide advice to senior leaders to support capability decisions in a multi-national context. They will have in-depth knowledge of Project Management functions and are responsible for the development, implementation, compliance and review of policies and procedures relevant to the LCD IE PM role. They will engage in complex problem solving and issues management. Their focus is the bilateral and trilateral capability initiatives between Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States. These initiatives affect important strategic, political or operational outcomes for Defence. The EL1 LCD IE PM will support the development and implementation of work plans, set performance indicators against organisational objectives in collaboration with subject matter experts, and review team and business performance. They will ensure coherence across capability modernisation objectives with the UK and US. They will advocate for work that aligns with the strategic objectives of the Land Domain within Australia and communicate expected outcomes. The EL1 LCD IE PM will be responsible for actively managing key stakeholder relationships, generally at the working level that supports the Bi-Lateral and Multi-Lateral capability initiatives. The EL1 will develop and communicate methodologies and practices to achieve outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development of their work area. This role require the ability to prioritise capability initiatives based on assessment of achievability across the nations. The EL1 LCD IE PM will be responsible to maintain oversight, and at times participate in procedural, operational, administrative and business management activities that support the delivery of outcomes. This role sets and tracks initiatives. About our Team This position will work alongside SO1 Strategic Engagements within Land Capability Division. They will report to the Chief of Staff Land Capability Division, and will have regular engagement with One Star branch heads across the division for approval of artefacts/consultation. This position will work closely with international stakeholders and some out of hours work will be required on a semi-regular basis. This position will work closely with Land Capability Division events team at Army International Engagements in AHQ (G3). Our Ideal Candidate Our ideal candidate: Coordinate and manage the Australian Army's contribution to various international engagement forums with land capability modernisation objectives (the 'project'). Manage a range of project activities and coordinate project inputs in accordance with organisational practices, methods and standards appropriate to the complexity of the project. Provide guidance to a multi-disciplined project team and coordinate project activities including support to strategic planning, governance functions and administrative functions. Build and sustain stakeholder engagement, including the ability to communicate with influence and negotiate effectively Apply established operational and administrative activities, procedures, practices and project management methodologies. Be responsible for the management of schedule, preparation of briefings, submissions, reports and returns for higher delegate consideration, relating to the project progress and issues in accordance with organisational objectives. Provide clear and consistent communication and setting clear performance and behavioural standards. Provide oversight and secretariat for designated One and Two Star international capability modernisation forums.
