Now, we are searching for a visionary Co-Director to lead BMC into the future. In this academic professorial (Level E) position, you'll need extensive research and research leadership experience in the field of neuroscience. The Co-Director role entails setting and meeting strategic and operational objectives for the MDI while championing a research strategy that aligns with BMC's vision and mission. With formal financial and people delegations, you'll have a direct impact on the financial sustainability of BMC, solidifying our reputation for excellence and national and international academic standing. About you (skills, capabilities and experience) The successful candidate must have: A PhD in an academic field relevant to the Institute and a national/international reputation in the field Demonstrated outstanding leadership skills with the ability to articulate a clear strong vision aligned with the University values and organisational goals to public and institutional audiences. Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with external stakeholders, including extensive and high-level links with industry and government and a demonstrated understanding of how industry and government operate. Strong negotiation and people management skills Experience leading an organisation in a complex environment including the initiation and management of a change agenda with input from diverse stakeholders. Experience with interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary research and education In depth knowledge and understanding of the key strategic issues in the higher education sector and neuroscience field. For current USYD Staff: Successful candidates must have HoS permission to reduce their underlying Faculty appointment to 0.5FTE. Non current USYD Staff: please note that this position is only offered at a 0.5FTE and no reversionary or substantive position is offered with this position.
