About the opportunity Westgold Resources are sourcing an experienced and safety focused WHS advisor to ensure compliance with the company’s integrated management system and mine management system. This newly created position will be offered to the successful candidate on a permanent 8:6 roster and will be based at our Bluebird mine site. The role includes Assisting in the maintenance and monitoring of all WHS Statutory requirements for the operation, including the statutory reporting requirements. Provide expert and practical advice on WHS controls to the operational site teams Provide assistance and guidance to site personnel in relation to incident reporting and investigations Participate in the implementation of the Annual Westgold WHS Strategic Plan Assist with the development of site-specific procedures when required Ensure, weekly month and WHS statistical reports are completed as per site and corporate requirements Ensure incident investigation findings are correct Verify safety records are maintained, and that the quality of the records is consistent with site standards and requirements Facilitate safety leadership training, pre-start meetings, and on-site observations What do I need? Demonstrated and proven Safety Lead experience with ability to lead small but proactive team (required) Minimum Diploma in Work Health and Safety (required) Lead ICAM investigator training is highly favoured along with completion of First Aid Certificate III in Emergency Response Cert IV in Training and Assessment Demonstrated experience working in the mining/resources sector (Underground experience desirable) Familiarity with INX and business intelligence reporting tools Demonstrated experience in consulting with managers and staff to provide key outcomes in health and safety, change management and related workplace improvement initiatives.
