About the role Are you passionate about making a difference in people's lives? selectability is seeking a dedicated service navigator to join our team. The service navigator role is a part time fixed term position until the end of January 2026 based in Townsville. In this role, you will play a crucial part in connecting individuals with the mental health and community services they need. As a service navigator, you'll provide guidance and support to consumers, helping them navigate available services and resources. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Support NDIS Access and Referrals : focus on assisting consumers with National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) access requests and managing referral pathways Enhance Service Integration: work to improve the integration of local health services and make the health system more accessible for individuals with severe mental illness and associated psychosocial disorders Customer Service: serve as the primary point of contact and deliver exceptional customer service for all mental health referral inquiries Needs Assessment: conduct comprehensive assessments using a range of evidence-based tools and processes to ensure effective progression of referrals Service Provider Support: provide necessary information and assistance to service providers regarding service availability Inreach and Outreach Services: offer inreach and outreach support to connect consumers and carers with the necessary services and supports Regional Information Resource: act as a key regional source of information on psychosocial resources If you're ready to make a meaningful difference and help individuals access the support they need, we invite you to apply for the service navigator position at selectability. About you To be considered for this rewarding role you will have great interpersonal skills and the ability work as part of a team. To be successful you must: experience in the mental health sector (highly desirable) a working knowledge of the NDIS a commitment to best practice experience in stakeholder engagement (desirable) strong attention to detail and time management skills ability to multitask in a fast paced environment ability to quickly and effectively engage with consumers the ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals demonstrated ability to use databases and Microsoft Office Suite the ability to analyse and translate information into practical consumer insights most importantly… a positive attitude!
