These programs support a positive and lasting impact on a child’s spiritual development. The role of Early Childhood Assistant provides support and assistance to the Early Childhood Team Leader in developing, implementing, and facilitating children’s ministry and programs, as well as providing companionship, care, and support. Key responsibilities: Preparation for Playgroup activities - Support Playgroup Team Leader in preparing the playgroup area before parents/guardians and children arrive, ensuring area is safe for children to play and materials for activities and snacks are ready. During Playgroup session - Greet parents/guardians and children, welcome newcomers and explain the session’s activities. Encourage participation, assist with refreshments and monitor activity to ensure everyone is engaged and behaving in a safe manner. Conclusion of session and pack up - Encourage children to return toys to designated areas and ask parents/guardians to assist their children. Tidy up and restore playgroup area to its previous configuration with all materials and furniture stored away correctly, with special attention in ensuring good infection controls. Qualifications and skills (desired/required): A good understanding and commitment to the Christian faith Experience working with parents and children preferred but not essential Suit those with a keen interest in child development and a young person’s spiritual journey Background check requirements: Background checks play an important part in our commitment to being a safe organisation.
