The company also undertakes targeted advocacy activities designed to encourage improved recognition of the importance of early intervention for good mental health.During the last 30 years, Accoras has become known for fostering belief, strength, and relationships, creating close community connections, identifying needs and delivering individualised solutions that deliver big impacts with limited resources.Accoras is a public company limited by guarantee and is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). The position Accoras is governed by a board of six non-executive directors, including the non-executive chair with a diverse mix of skills and capabilities. The governance approach prioritises positive culture, strategic foresight, proactive leadership, and continuous improvement and always in the best interests of the Accoras community and stakeholders.Accoras have decided to recruit an additional director with deep experience and knowledge of, and substantial networks in, the Australian mental health sector and are seeking candidates with insights into the true needs in the market, and how to pitch to those funders, philanthropists or social impact lenders who are prepared to fund services to meet these needs. Key selection criteria The board is seeking to recruit a non-executive director with skills, knowledge, and experience in one or more of the following:1. Deep sector expertise and networks including: Demonstrated reputation and extensive experience within the Australian mental health sector. Well-established networks across funders, government agencies, philanthropists, and social impact investors relevant to mental health services. 2. Strategic growth and business development including: Proven capability to identify emerging needs in the mental health market and translate these into growth opportunities. Experience securing and diversifying funding, including tendering for government grants and developing alternative revenue streams. Understanding of market dynamics, new service models, and future funding trends. Graduates of the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ Course (or equivalent) will be highly regarded.The board is seeking candidates located across Australia.
