The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the company's compliance with local and international tax regulations, optimizing tax strategies, and providing tax-related guidance to the executive team. Key Responsibilities : Tax Strategy & Advisory : Develop and implement a proactive tax strategy aligned with the organization's financial and operational goals. Compliance Oversight : Ensure timely and accurate preparation, review, and submission of tax returns (corporate income tax, GST, and other applicable taxes), while maintaining compliance with Australian and international tax laws. Risk Management : Identify tax risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect the organization's interests. Business Partnering : Provide tax guidance to executive and operational teams, ensuring tax considerations are included in decision-making processes, acquisitions, and financial planning. Tax Optimization : Lead initiatives to enhance tax efficiency across the business, including leveraging available incentives. Team Leadership : Manage, mentor, and develop the internal tax team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. Audit Support : Act as the primary point of contact for tax-related audits and liaise with external advisors and regulatory bodies as needed. Continuous Improvement : Stay updated on evolving tax regulations and implement best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency. Key Skills and Qualifications : Academic Background : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CA qualification required (CTA qualification highly regarded). Industry Experience : Proven experience in a senior tax role, preferably within the hospitality, real estate, or related industries. Experience managing complex tax structures is a strong advantage. Regulatory Knowledge : In-depth understanding of Australian tax laws, with exposure to international tax frameworks. Experience with GST compliance critical. Analytical Skills : Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial scenarios and provide actionable tax strategies. Attention to Detail : Precision in managing tax filings, reports, and compliance documentation. Leadership Skills : Demonstrated experience building and leading high-performing teams, fostering development, and collaboration. Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to relay tax concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Technology Proficiency : Familiarity with tax software and financial systems such as SAP or Oracle is advantageous.
