Description Freedom of Information (FOI) and Governance Officer Reference number: 10742 Closing date: 11:00pm, Sunday 3 August 2025 Permanent full-time position (part-time will be considered) Salary commencing at $82,635 to $107,826 per annum plus 12% superannuation (commensurate with qualifications, skills and experience) Hybrid working arrangement and a monthly Rostered Day off (RDO) The Opportunity This role provides professional, effective and efficient administrative support to the functions of the Legal & Governance Department, whilst maintaining Freedom of Information (FOI) legislated responses and requirements. Responsibilities To manage the FOI applications and enquiries in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 1982. To manage the Personal Interest Returns register and legal advice register. To assist with privacy matters in accordance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 when required. Make independent decisions in relation to FOI applications as an Authorised Officer. Guidance on decisions is available from the supervisor. Skills & Experience A working understanding of legislation relevant to the work of the Legal and Governance Unit including the Local Government Act 2020, the Freedom of Information Act 1982 and the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014. Bachelor’s Degree and some experience in a lesser qualification with significant relevant experience. Excellent proficiency in administrative and research skills. Ability to liaise with their counterparts in other organisations to discuss specialist matters and with other employees in other functions in their own organisation to resolve intra-organisational challenges. Demonstrated ability to prioritise daily operations to coordinate specific allocated tasks in a dynamic work environment. Excellent written skills (including editing) and provision of high-quality correspondence and documents.
