Key Duties and Responsibilities may Include but not limited to: Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications. Select, cut, clean, and prepare steel stock for fabrication. Shape and bend metal sections and pipes using thermal and mechanical processes. Align trailer chassis and components accurately using precision measuring instruments. Perform welding with MIG, TIG, and arc techniques; bolt and rivet as required. Inspect welds for bead quality, penetration, and structural integrity. Deburr, file, grind, polish, and apply finishing treatments (e.g. acidic baths). Collaborate closely with electricians, plumbers, and assembly teams to integrate components seamlessly. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator, preferably in trailer or heavy vehicle manufacturing. Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings. Skilled in various welding techniques and finishing processes. High attention to detail, ensuring weld and finish quality meets specifications. Familiarity with WHS safety standards and safe metalworking practices. Desirable: Trade certification (e.g. Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade). Why Bill’s Trailers?
