11 month role Based at Berrinba or Brisbane Be part of the Fire Ant Suppression Taskforce (FAST) Team to implement a range of projects, campaigns and innovations designed to empower and mobilise individuals and organisations to self-manage fire ants in the suppression area. Oversee a responsive treatment program to ensure every report of suspected fire ant nests is referred to the relevant landholder for timely treatment or prioritised for treatment by licenced pest management technicians where there was a risk to public or animal safety. Build a thorough understanding and sound skills in using existing systems and mapping tools to inform requests for system developments or enhancements to improve functionality or data quality, and to accommodate new/revised projects. Use mapping tools to inform decision making, monitor change, and present/report accurate data for varied audiences and purposes. Co-design and co-deliver presentations and workshops for stakeholders on how to use our systems, mapping tools and apps to collect and share accurate data (including shapefiles, GPS coordinates, etc.) relating to surveillance, reporting and treatment of fire ants. Assist with the development of memorandums of understanding, collaborative agreements and associated documentation and communication to promote and support aerial treatment and self- management of fire ants by local, state and federal government agencies. Collaboratively arrange free training, technical advice, treatment product and equipment for all schools in areas of high known fire ant density to ensure students, their families and staff can safely access public areas on campuses. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including various functions in the National Fire Ant Eradication Program and FAST.
