State Medical Assistance (SMA) is offering a rare opportunity to join an exciting aged care pilot program that is transforming how care is delivered after hours. We’re currently seeking dedicated and experienced paramedics to join our innovative team on a permanent or casual basis. Why This Role Is Different? This isn’t your typical paramedic job. You’ll be the first on the frontlines of a pioneering 12-month trial designed to reduce unnecessary hospitalisations in aged care by delivering acute clinical interventions on-site. What You’ll Do: Work overnight and weekend 12-hour shifts Operate as a single responder within aged care facilities Deliver acute after-hours interventions directly to residents Prevent unnecessary hospital admissions Perform advanced skills such as catheterisation, bladder scanning, and NG tube placement Receive additional clinical training to support your role Who We’re Looking For: AHPRA registered paramedics (unconditional) with strong clinical experience Professionals committed to safe, person-centred care Paramedics residing in the Southern Highlands or Goulburn region Team players who thrive in autonomous, fast-paced environments Willingness to meet compliance requirements - unrestricted drivers license with a clean driving record, mask fit certificate, working with children check, national police check, first aid & CPR and full category A immunisations including 3x COVID and annual influenza Why Join SMA?
