Since 2014, we’ve grown to a team of 250 cleaners and a close-knit office team in Thornbury – all working together to help make our customers’ lives a little easier (and a lot cleaner!). We’re now looking for a freelance, on-call recruiter to join our team on a flexible, ongoing basis. This is a unique opportunity for a recruitment professional who wants a steady, part-time arrangement and loves being embedded with a values-driven business — without the agency pressure. About the role Freelance contract – $1,000/month retainer ($12,000/year) Bonus $1000 per candidate that passes probation Approx. 5 hires per year (~20 hours of work per hire) $120/hr equivalent base and up to $170/hr including bonus Flexible hybrid work – most work can be done remotely, with occasional visits to our Thornbury office You’ll be our go-to person when we need to hire for customer service, admin, scheduling or sales roles — the core of our operations team. We’re not looking to “set and forget” with agencies. We want someone who will learn who we are, understand our culture and values, and help us hire the right people as we continue to grow. Responsibilities Get to know Maid to Clean: meet the team, learn our vibe, and understand what “great” looks like here End-to-end recruitment for up to 5 office hires per year: Writing and posting job ads Screening and shortlisting candidates Conducting phone interviews and online assessments Running in-person interviews in our Thornbury office Presenting 2–3 top candidates per role to our management team for final interviews Occasional attendance at a team social event to help you stay connected with our culture What we’re looking for Proven experience hiring for customer service or admin roles (bonus if you've hired for service-based or trade businesses) Strong communicator, emotionally intelligent, and deeply people-focused Someone who understands that great teams are built on shared values, not just flashy resumes Independent and proactive — but not afraid to roll up your sleeves and work closely with our team when needed Based in Melbourne and available to attend our Thornbury office for interviews and occasional training/social events Why work with us?
