This is an exciting new role for a visionary who is passionate about the sheep meat industry, adaptable and modern in their approach to agriculture, and looking for career development as a Livestock Manager within a large-scale operation. The Role Kiland Estate on Kangaroo Island boasts 18,500 hectares of arable land and encompasses multiple interests including forestry, land conversion, farming, and industrial processing. Currently, 2,500 hectares of land have been converted for agricultural production, with ongoing renovations of 2,500 hectares per annum supporting the Estate’s rapid expansion of its breeding ewe operations for meat sheep production. As Livestock Manager, you will play a vital role within our dedicated team, working closely with and reporting to the Agricultural Operations Manager, and liaising regularly with the Cropping Manager and Estate Manager. Ideally, you will have exceptional sheep and animal health knowledge, be innovative in your thought processes, and have a strong thirst for progression. Aided by a Farm Hand, you will manage a composite herd of 3,000 head, which will rapidly expand over the coming years. This role demands rigorous adherence to company controls, safety protocols, and environmental guidelines to uphold industry standards and promote sustainable farming practices within designated time frames. Your commitment to safety and efficiency is crucial in maintaining the high-quality operation standards.
