In the position of Business Development Manager, you will be growing, expanding and developing new business opportunities specific to our market and increasing existing sustainable and profitable business opportunities. About the Role: Together with Business Unit Managers you will identify, grow, expand and develop new business opportunities. You will be able to build long-lasting, mutually respectful relationships with clients, manage demanding and competing priorities, communicate openly, solve problems proactively and work as a positive, engaged team member. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Seek out new business opportunities to facilitate growth Cold calling brokers/loss adjustors to create opportunities for relationships Understand and exceed set KPI by creating new opportunities for the business Develop relationships with key clients and lapsed clients to drive sales Co-ordinate & attend regular face-to-face meetings Develop a calendar of industry events and develop a representation plan to grow brand recognition and increase client base. Identifying key gaps in business opportunities Attend business conferences and exhibitions to promote our business Compile and present company information to stakeholders Work thoughtfully to identify, clarify & exceed client expectations Ensure commitments & promises are fully supported & delivered At all times act as an ambassador & role model for the businesses Seek out new business development opportunities to facilitate growth Plan, action and review opportunities to entertain clients in a relaxed setting Key Selection Criteria: Ability to think laterally and problem solve issues Industry connections and experience within the Insurance or Construction industry would be well regarded Sales experience and strong decision making & negotiation skills Excellent written & verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail, positive & pro-active attitude Excellent time management & organisational skills Highly computer literate including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook Positive & pro-active attitude Ability to manage a demanding & changing workload & competing priorities Valid Australian driver licence Please note: A criminal background check will make up part of the recruitment process
