About the Opportunity Central Australian Women’s Legal Service (CAWLS) is looking for a full-time Women’s Support Worker based in Alice Springs, NT . In this role, you’ll be responsible for providing non-legal support to women experiencing DFV at the Alice Springs Local Court, as well as assisting the CAWLS legal and Front of House teams to deliver holistic services to clients in crisis. More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to: Providing non-legal information and trauma-informed support at court Assessing immediate safety risks and developing safety plans Making referrals to appropriate community support agencies Preparing court reports based on client safety assessments Supporting CAWLS clients with housing and tenancy applications Responding to lawyer and staff referrals for non-legal support needs Undertaking risk assessments and working with child protection if required Assisting with client intake, data entry, and front-of-house administration Maintaining accurate and confidential client records Supporting organisational operations and continuous service improvement To read the full position description, please click here . About You To qualify, you will need a relevant tertiary qualification in social work (or an equivalent discipline) and/or demonstrated experience in a similar support role . Additionally, the following experience and skills will be highly valued: Experience working with people affected by DFV and the NT family violence service system Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and cultural safety Familiarity working with Aboriginal clients and remote communities Case coordination and support in high-risk, high-complexity environments Knowledge of the NT Domestic and Family Violence Act and safety frameworks Competency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and case management systems Ability to manage competing priorities with professionalism and empathy As our ideal candidate, you’ll be a strong communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills, especially when working with vulnerable individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
