The key duties of the position include The Library is seeking to fill a ongoing Director, Communications and Marketing EL2 role in the Communications and Marketing Section of the Engagement Branch. The Director of Communications and Marketing at the National Library of Australia is a senior leadership role responsible for guiding strategic planning and program delivery. The position oversees complex and sensitive work, including the development of business plans, budgets, and policies that support the Library's national objectives. The Director provides expert advice and manages high-level issues, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders. They build and maintain strategic relationships with government agencies, cultural institutions, and business partners to ensure alignment with evolving organisational and audience needs. We are looking for a strong leader, as the Director manages a diverse team, fostering a positive, ethical, and safe workplace culture. They are responsible for staff development, performance management, and driving change to achieve organisational goals. To succeed in this role: A tertiary qualification in a relevant field and/or extensive experience in a similar role in either the Government or private sector.
