THE ORGANISATION Melbourne-based Community Services business with corporate headquarters in the northern suburbs. THE OPPORTUNITY Reporting to the HR Manager, the Payroll Officer will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of an in-house fortnightly payroll of approximately 300 predominantly salaried employees, including: Advising management and staff on the interpretation of Awards, the EBA, relevant legislation, HR procedures, payroll queries and Superannuation while using Chris21 Production and distribution of standard and ad hoc payroll reports (Annual Leave, RDO’s for example) for the Senior Management Team Calculating and processing terminations, salary adjustments, Higher Duties and other employee changes, ensuring data integrity Conducting EOFY activities and associated reconciliations WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? The position is Part-time, offering a lot of flexibility around the days you work (you can choose) and/or the hours you work (you can spread the 4 days over 5 so have the flexibility of school drop-offs/pick-ups). The role could be close to home and offers free, secure onsite parking if you drive or a tram and train stop at the office front door if you prefer Public Transport. There is also more than one person in the wider HR Management/Operations team who can process the Payroll, so if you get sick, or wish to go on annual leave, there is support within the business. CHALLENGES While there is support in the business that can act as a backup, you will be solely responsible for the Payroll and that comes with expectations. It is a multi-site Payroll, so you will have to liaise with many stakeholders company-wide. Some procedures and processes may need improving.
