About the Role As Senior Grid Engineer, you will lead the delivery of grid modelling, power systems analysis and technical strategy for major developments. The role spans the full lifecycle—from early-stage feasibility to commissioning—working closely with commercial, development, and engineering teams. You will manage the regulatory interface with AEMO and NSPs, ensure GPS compliance, and support risk mitigation across multiple NEM jurisdictions. Key Responsibilities Conduct and review PSSE, PSCAD or PowerFactory modelling to support generator performance standards and GPS Manage R0/R1 submissions, grid studies and compliance assessments Lead interface with AEMO, DNSPs and consultants during connection process Provide strategic technical input across feasibility, connection, construction and commissioning stages Monitor NEM regulatory changes and assess impact on development pipeline Collaborate with internal teams to optimise connection strategy and delivery outcomes Technical Focus Grid connection of solar, wind, BESS and hybrid assets Power systems modelling and simulation GPS preparation, negotiation and approval Regulatory and technical interface with AEMO/NSPs National Electricity Rules (NER) and evolving compliance frameworks Candidate Profile 5 years’ experience in grid connection, power systems or NEM-facing engineering roles Proficiency with PSSE and at least one of PSCAD or PowerFactory Strong understanding of AEMO connection processes and NER compliance Demonstrated experience leading GPS studies and managing R1 approvals Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management and technical writing skills Engineering qualifications in electrical or power systems engineering Comfortable operating across teams in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment What’s on Offer Work across one of Australia’s largest renewable and BESS portfolios Lead critical technical work through all stages of grid connection Join a collaborative, commercially-minded energy team Competitive remuneration package with performance incentives Flexible hybrid work and location across multiple Australian hubs Make a real impact on the future of Australia’s energy system How to Apply Modelling Tools: Detail your experience with PSSE, PowerFactory or PSCAD Connection Projects: List key GPS, R1 or grid modelling assignments you’ve led or supported To apply, send your CV and a brief cover letter.
