Our client, an experienced residential builder and developer with an international client base, are seeking an Import and Logistics Supervisor to join their growing organisation who is fluent in Japanese. The Role Working closely with the Production and Procurement Manager, you will oversee the scheduling and logistics for the importation of building materials used to construct homes and residential communities within NSW. Responsibilities of the Role Coordinate importation of materials Oversee contractors who are involved in the production and transport of the building products Assist the construction and drafting team to ensure technical specifications and quality standards are achieved Develop a systematic control for frame and truss detailing Ensure all supplier and trade WHSE documentation is received in a timely manner Attend product development meetings and contribute to product development and research and development initiatives Coordinate factory tours for stakeholders and ensure a high quality presentation of the factory whilst adhering to Work, Health and Safety and Environmental standards at all times Experience Required Ability to communicate fluently in Japanese and English – both verbally and written Knowledge in Japanese business protocol will be highly regarded Previous experience working in a similar role, ideally within the building and/or construction industry would be advantageous Experience in scheduling and logistics will be highly regarded as will experience working with contractors Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel & Powerpoint) Possess a current White Card Drivers licence essential A Certificate in First Aid is necessary (or you must be willing to train in First Aid upon commencement) Must be eligible to work in Australia Skills Required Strong communication skills (fluent in both English and Japanese) Demonstrated leadership experience Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team with minimal supervision Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task A positive ‘can-do’ attitude and a highly autonomous self-starter Solutions focussed with excellent problem-solving skills Strong customer service skills and the ability to act in a professional and ethical manner at all times Benefits of Working Here Opportunity to use your Japanese language skills in a globally recognised company Ongoing professional training and development Work within a supportive, high performing and dynamic work environment A chance to make a positive contribution to the success of a growing global organisation Competitive salary commensurate with experience If you have a passion for logistics, a strong work ethic and excellent Japanese language skills, we encourage you to apply.
