About the role: We are seeking a highly experienced executive to provide strategic and operational leadership in the delivery of the Federal Government funded Workforce Australia (WFA) program across multiple regions in Western Australia. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team and reporting directly to the CEO, the WA State Manager is accountable for the performance, culture, and impact of operations across Metropolitan Perth and Geraldton. You will lead a team of Regional Managers and other senior staff to deliver tailored, community-responsive services that drive employment outcomes, empower staff, and exceed contractual requirements. You will represent the organisation in WA, building and maintaining strong relationships with government, employers, community stakeholders, and industry partners, and you will play a key role in national strategy, transformation initiatives, and service innovation. The successful candidate will be an experienced, ambitious and agile people leader, able to motivate teams and managers, whilst working collaboratively with the ELT to achieve overall business objectives. The successful candidate must be permanently based in WA, across any existing site within the WA region, noting that there is an executive office in Perth metro. Some inter-state travel will be required for ELT meetings. The salary is competitive and includes tax savings through NFP salary sacrificing and access to a vehicle. Skills and experience required: Executive-level leadership experience, within employment services or operational leadership in a complex performance-driven environment Proven ability to lead through leaders, coach high-performing teams, and foster a positive and accountable leadership culture Strong understanding of government-funded service contracts including compliance, quality frameworks, and stakeholder engagement Strong stakeholder engagement capabilities, including experience working with Federal Government, peak bodies, and industry partners Experience leading through change, managing risk, and implementing business transformation or service innovation initiatives Qualifications in management, business, human services or a related field are required. Candidates should have the ability and willingness to travel intrastate and interstate, and hold (or be eligible to obtain) a Police Check, WWCC, and a valid driver’s licence.
