About the Role An exciting opportunity for an experienced Associate Environmental Scientist with a well-regarded environmental consultancy supporting major infrastructure projects across Queensland and New South Wales. This role is ideal for a technically skilled professional with strong leadership abilities, capable of managing environmental assessments, compliance audits, and contributing to environmental management planning throughout construction phases. Key Responsibilities Lead and support environmental management activities on major infrastructure and construction projects. Conduct and supervise environmental due diligence, site investigations, monitoring, and risk assessments. Develop, review, and implement environmental management plans and quality management systems. Perform environmental compliance inspections and audits during construction phases. Provide technical advice to project teams and engage with a diverse range of stakeholders to improve environmental outcomes. Supervise and mentor junior team members and assist in delivering environmental training programs. Support continuous improvement of environmental systems and compliance with relevant legislation in Queensland and NSW. Assist with incident investigations and ensure accurate environmental reporting using digital management systems. Contribute to business development efforts by assessing tender requirements and advising on environmental risks and opportunities. Qualifications & Experience Degree in Environmental Management or a related discipline. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in environmental management, particularly within infrastructure or construction sectors. Strong working knowledge of Queensland and/or NSW environmental legislation and policies. Proven experience in environmental site investigations, remediation planning, and compliance auditing. Experience leading teams and supervising environmental staff. Skilled in preparing and reviewing environmental management and quality plans. Familiarity with digital environmental incident reporting and record-keeping tools. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Current unrestricted Class C driver’s licence and Construction White Card. Preferred Qualifications Certification in Erosion and Sediment Control. Fauna handling or spotting experience or qualifications. First aid certification. Fire ant awareness training.
