About the Opportunity This position supports Council's operational objectives by performing a range of manual labour tasks related to concrete construction and maintenance. Working as part of a multi-skilled team, this role involves placing, finishing and repairing concrete structure and surfaces. The position is primarily in a construction crew, however depending on the program being delivered and workloads the position maybe moved to other crews within the Construction teams. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: Perform concrete-related labouring tasks (e.g. mixing, placing, screeding, edging, finishing and curing) in a safe, efficient and high-quality manner. Assist in setting up and dismantling formwork, reinforcement, and other construction elements as required. Maintain and use small hand tools and concrete finishing equipment. Support construction crews by performing general labouring duties including diffing, leveling, lifting and material handling. About You The ideal candidate will have: Experience using hand tools and small equipment related to concrete works. Demonstrated physical agility and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting and bending. Demonstrated ability to maintain harmony within a team and foster good working relationships with all council employees and members of the public. Demonstrated ability to work under general supervision Mandatory Requirements Queensland ‘C’ Class driver’s licence or above that is current and maintained. Construction Industry White/Blue card. Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Licence/Competency (Ticket) Requirements Knowledge of Civil construction and Maintenance activities Concrete and formwork experience. Queensland ‘MR’ class driver’s licence or above that is current and maintained.
