Description About the Role: Are you a construction professional ready to lead complex, multi-discipline infrastructure projects? Strait Link is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee a growing portfolio of projects over the coming two years. During this 2-year contract role, you'll be a key interface between Strait Link and our construction partners—ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and aligned with our operational needs. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, responsibility, and seeing projects through from planning to handover. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Ensure all works planned and scheduled comply with Strait Link’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies. Manage the tender process for new projects, including drafting detailed scopes of work and engaging with construction companies to tender for project delivery. Provide subject matter expert (SME) guidance during contract preparation. Manage construction partners for both new-construction and remediation projects, ensuring all activities align with Strait Link’s project goals and objectives. Liaise with construction partners’ engineers, architects, and relevant stakeholders during the planning and construction phases. Ensure construction partners deliver projects to the agreed quality standards. Continuously monitor cost estimates, budgets, schedules, and resource allocations for Strait Link-funded projects to ensure effective cost management. Identify, track, and mitigate recurring construction issues with Strait Link construction partners. Ensure construction partners comply with legal regulations, building codes, safety codes, and other statutory requirements. Engage with internal Strait Link stakeholders to ensure project outcomes are aligned with future operational needs, including safe operations and effective traffic management. Provide weekly project status updates and monthly progress reports, clearly identifying risks and variations to plan. Manage issue and conflict resolution between Strait Link and construction partners. Routinely inspect construction sites and act as the on-site representative and face of Strait Link. Ensure all technical documentation—such as as-built drawings, services drawings, and structural drawings—is received, catalogued, and stored appropriately for Strait Link’s records. Skills And Experiences Skills & Attributes We're Looking For 5 years’ experience managing civil and building construction projects Expertise in pavement, groundworks, piling, and ground improvement techniques Experience delivering industrial facilities – workshops, offices, amenities, wash bays Strong knowledge of construction methods , materials, and safety standards Proficient in reading technical drawings, contracts , and construction specifications Confident managing multiple projects, budgets, timelines , and contractors Solid understanding of building codes, scheduling, and cost control Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications Highly skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Excellent leadership, communication , and stakeholder engagement abilities Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills Qualifications & Extras Degree in Engineering, Construction Management , or related field Professional certifications (CCM, CPC, AC) are a plus Familiarity with green building and sustainable construction practices An inclusive workplace, works for everyone We celebrate difference.
