Job Title: Solution Engineer - Utility Projects Location: Melbourne, VIC Salary: Competitive base salary performance-linked bonuses Work Set-up: Fully Onsite About the Role: This is an exciting opportunity for a Solution Engineer with a strong structural engineering background to lead the development of customised PV racking solutions for utility-scale solar projects. You'll be responsible for providing technical expertise from concept through execution, collaborating closely with customers and internal teams. We are specifically looking for candidates with demonstrated experience in: Tracker system design (e.g. torque tube configuration, row spacing) Wind compliance in accordance with AS1170.2, particularly in high-wind regions (Region C/D) Technical discussions around stow angle optimisation, terrain layout strategy, and interpreting wind tunnel reports Candidates with direct experience in tracker or ground-mount structural design within Australia or similarly regulated environments will be prioritised. Key Responsibilities: Client Engagement Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements, budgets, and timelines Support the sales team by providing technical expertise and tailored engineering solutions Solution Design and Engineering Develop customised solar PV racking solutions, including structural calculations and project quotations Lead solution presentations, create case studies, and support product marketing initiatives Execution Support Conduct site inspections during installations to ensure compliance with engineering designs and industry standards Industry Innovation Stay up to date on solar technology trends, structural innovations, and renewable energy best practices Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering (MBA or advanced degree is a plus) Minimum 2 years in solar PV project engineering, EPC, or structural consulting Hands-on experience with structural engineering and tracker system design Wind compliance (AS1170.2) and high-wind design (Region C/D) Terrain layout and stow angle optimisation Interpreting wind tunnel test results Familiarity with project delivery in Australian or similar regulatory environments Proven client-facing experience and ability to communicate complex technical solutions effectively Advanced Excel for data analysis and reporting Strong grasp of solution design, structural engineering, and project management principles Proficiency in engineering and simulation tools: SPACEGASS, Multiframe, SAP2000, PVCase, PVSyst Preferred Attributes: Established industry network in utility-scale solar development Results-driven and passionate about clean energy and innovation Perks and Benefits: Competitive salary package with performance-based bonuses Global career development opportunities Be part of a forward-thinking, international team Work on cutting-edge renewable energy projects across Australia Ready to energise your career?
