Contract opportunity Newcastle-based business Immediate start preferred ASR Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Interim Financial Accountant to support a well-established finance team during a key transition period. This short-term role offers stability and autonomy in managing core accounting functions without process overhaul or transformation responsibilities. About the Role You will be responsible for managing the core finance function on an interim basis, providing stability and continuity during a period of leadership transition. This role suits a dependable, autonomous professional who can confidently take ownership of key accounting responsibilities with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities Manage month-end close and reconciliations Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial data Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash flow reporting Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports Support payroll processing as required Ensure compliance with financial policies and controls Provide finance support and respond to internal queries Assist with handover to permanent finance leadership About you Degree qualified in Accounting or Finance CPA/CA preferred but not essential Experience at Financial Accountant or Finance Manager level Strong Excel and accounting systems skills Able to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities Excellent communication skills Available immediately or on short notice Why This Role?
