Job Description Currently, this position is located in our project office in Sydney CBD, with occasional site visits. Once the project is fully operational, it will transition to a 14/7 roster-based arrangement out of the Central West Orana Region. ACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, has been appointed network operator by EnergyCo to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network. The ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), the design and construct (D&C) consortium, will design and build the Central-West Orana REZ transmission project. The new transmission network infrastructure will deliver at least 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity from 2028 to connect 7.7 gigawatts of wind and solar projects, which is enough to power more than 2 million homes each year. Our Central-West Orana project is currently seeking a dedicated Site Engineer to share their expertise within our growing Civil Team. In this role, you will coordinate and control engineering activities for the project, including technical, inspection, scheduling, planning, survey, procurement, and quality control tasks. You will ensure effective communication and coordination across all disciplines and project activities. Key Responsibilities Ensure all quality, environmental, and safety aspects of the project are addressed, maintaining effective operation and project delivery, and initiate corrective actions for non-conformances. Prepare Inspection Test Reports, conduct internal audits on project suppliers and subcontractors, and maintain compliance with all relevant HSE policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements. Lead by example in meeting safety KPIs, ensuring project team members and subcontractor supervisors also meet their safety KPIs, and continually assess and control high-risk activities and hazards. Provide support in planning materials, resources, and systems usage within the project, assisting with the development and implementation of construction planning documents. Manage the operational aspects of work crews to ensure effective use of systems and processes, monitor progress, and advise the Project Engineer on significant changes and remedial actions. Coordinate resource allocation, track subcontractor resources daily, prepare cost plans, and monitor resourcing against the agreed budget, reporting variances to the Project Engineer. Maintain project schedule by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, preparing project status reports, and assisting with change orders. Manage cost control, identify and forecast risks and opportunities, produce daily costings, review subcontractor payments, and implement controls for cost recoveries and variations. Required Skills and Competencies Bachelor’s degree (Engineering). Preferable 2 years experience in a construction/engineering environment. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others. Establish and steward overall delivery work plans. Ensuring all relevant regulatory requirements are satisfied. Competent in planning and organising work schedules.
